- Keeping Your Promises
An important element of self promotion is to keep your promises. Recently, I spoke with a consultant who I was interested in working with on a certain aspect of my business. We seemed to hit it off really well, and I was looking forward to moving ahead. However, in our first call, he promised to send me some information- which I never received. When I followed up on it, I was promised that it would be sent to me within the next 2-3 days.

- The Art of Self Promotion
Recently, I was contacted by an organization that asked me to speak to its members in a workshop format. Although they were not offering payment for this opportunity, they did offer that it was an opportunity to increase my exposure. The only rule was: I couldn't promote myself. When I tried to find out what this meant, the person I was speaking with wasn't able to give me any information or guidelines.
