Productizing Your Business

  • Start small.

    So, please take note: when you start productizing your business, start small. Think about one area or one type of customer you can target- make a top 10 list of some sort, and then think about how you can use this top 10 list into a slightly bigger product. Then, take that slightly bigger product and expand it further.

  • Plan your products now.

    I've just become a team leader for a teaching program which is bringing more than 100 people together to create a signature product or program in 90 days. The energy and enthusiasm is high and we're all excited to get started.

  • Create a process or program.

    One of the best strategies for working with your clients is to create a definable process or program that solves at least one of your client's biggest problems. Think about what it is you do with your clients- what systematic approach do you take to helping them solve their problems.

    Ok, so I admit it- I've had a somewhat secret ongoing love affair with the idea of productizing my business- finding ways to package and deliver my expertise outside of the normal face to face and 1:1 formats.
