- Stepping to the Side of Your Marketing
A topic I've been pondering for a few days has to do with stepping to the side of your marketing. The way I think of it, this means two things.
First, you have to shove your fear aside and just get out there and market. This can sometimes be easier to do when you stand to the side, rather than straight out front. Many of us are not built to be high energy, shamless self promoters. For us, a "to the side" approach of providing good, relevant content/assistance, inviting people to connect with us, and showing up regularly is how we best build our businesses.
Second, the "to the side" philosophy also means that you stand aside and let your marketing work.

Repeat what works. When you find marketing avenues that work for you, keep doing them. You don’t need to keep adding new methods; just work the ones you have. (…)

- Positive people only, please.
Surround yourself with positivity. You can not be motivated to market your business when you are negative, critical, or overwhelmed. If others in your life are negative, critical or overwhelmed, separate them from your business. You are naturally more motivated when you feel positive.

- Marketing Motivation
Write down goals. Research shows that people who take time to set goals and write them down achieve more than those who don’t. If you need marketing motivation, ask yourself, “What is the purpose of my marketing? What goals am I trying to achieve?” And then write these down.
