Start with quiet time to plan.

Start most days with some quiet time to focus and plan the day. Use this time to look over your projects or appointments and to lay out a plan to follow through the day. This is a good strategy especially on those days where you have multiple tasks to accomplish (i.e. seeing clients, writing your newsletter, returning phone calls.) By taking a few minutes to plan, early in the day, you can retain better control over your time during the day.
